I currently have a z3 in my em1 so ill be using that tranny and other parts I already have for the swap.

I'm in a similar place... with maybe only a slight amount more know how here but k24a1 is my sights. Build it up slow till I can afford the k20a2 head, and eventually boost. I will be very happy I think. I kinda skimmed but the general consensus is if your planning to boost go 5 speed long block. More spool time. More power.

For tranny I think the k20a3 is a safe bet.
