tsx 6th

That is very critical part, Acura has two types of 6th gear for TSX
23590-RAS-000 which looks correct based on this picture and
23590-RAS-A00 which is completely different and will not fit to Y2M3 mainshaft,
I just learn it. Ordering 23590-RAS-000.

Palmerblock, what tool did you use to unscrew that bolt from countershaft?

yep, new 1st, 2nd, and tsx 6th

where you located
long beach, ca

this is an amazing catalog of how a transmission goes togeather.

could you perhaps label each picture with what the new part is that is added i.e. "here we put on the 2nd gear, and here is the 2-3 syncro" etc etc so we can kind of follow what is going on.

also, can you include a little shpeal on how to take apart the case, and remove both shafts as well as the diff, and how to put it all back togeather?

thanks a TON!!!!!!!!
yes i can, ill edit in the next few days

real nice guide, but would i need a press to get the gears back in?
Image

i saw in of of the pictures that you had it on a press..

id liek to knwo because i have a whole 02-04 tranny it jsut needs the 3-4 shifter fork put in and a new bell housing.
:up::up::up::up::up::up::worship::worship::worship:
3rd in 4th gear are on the mainshaft as far as the syncro sleeve which is what the shift forks hold onto, you dont need a press to service the mainshaft no matter what the part is

Isn't that a harbor freight press. I have one of those. I bought it from a friend for 20 bux LOL
yes sir

Bump for a answer plz :)

so about this shimming thing for us EP3 guys that just want to add a tsx 6th gear:
Pic is a TSX 6-speed trans.
Image

Part 11 is the shim and acura has 29 different sizes to choose from. Can we reuse the one in there or will we need to measure and buy a new one? Also from your pics it looks like there's a second distance collar between 5th and 6th... 1. is that true and 2. is there anything between the collar above 5th, that one, and the 6th gear itself? Genius writeup by the way.. you've inspired me to try blowing up my trans :D

Does the Base Rsx tranny's need the same thing ?
