Just wondering what you use in your set up, the K24 water pump or the K20a2 water pump.

Is there an advantage using one over another?

I like the idea of the oem unit because it does double duty. On startup, it actually functions as an oil warmer and gets the oil up to temp. When pushed hard and the oil gets hot, it serves as an oil cooler.

My plan is to use the OEM cooler and if I find it isn't getting the job done, then I'll plumb up an aftermarket cooler setup.

If you use the oem oil cooler, then I think you need the type-s water passage as well. You should check to make sure that they are interchangeable. On a somewhat related note, I have an extra type-s water passage and an extra rsx base model water pump (and its passage as well). Let me know if you are interested in any of those bits.

great info. Thanks, I will check if I have the rsx-s water passage.
I have parts from 3 motors conttributing to my 1 swap; K20a2, K20A3 and K24A1.

Things start getting mixed up after a while.

The K24A1 doesn't have a passage for the oil cooler. So if your'e going to use the K24 you will need the k24 water pump. Just remove the Power steering pump if your'e using one.
If I recall there was a thread on here with pics. the K24a1 can accept the K20a2 oil cooler. The passage is there but has a thin casting over the port and needs to be dremmeld out.
