Default 1998 EK w/ TSX tranny

I have a 1998 EK and I am going to install a 2006 TSX 6 speed transmission in it. Im hoping that someone who has done this before can shed some light on the subject.

1. What shifter can be used?

2. Is the OEM TSX shifter an option with the Karcept mounting kit.

3. Can one of the no cut shifter assemblies be used either from Hybrid Racing or K-tuned?

4. Which shifter cables work best?

Thanks again

I believe the transmission itself is only designed to fit into the Tsx chassis. If that's indeed true, you may need to find an Ep3/Rsx trans case & transfer all the components from Tsx trans to the new case. Hope that sheds some light.

1. What shifter can be used?
You can use 03-07 Accord/04-08 TSX Shifter

2. Is the OEM TSX shifter an option with the Karcept mounting kit.
No you can't. According to the information listed for the Karcept mounting kit in their website, its only good for swaps utilizing the RSX transmissions.

3. Can one of the no cut shifter assemblies be used either from Hybrid Racing or K-tuned?
I do not think Hybrid Racing makes a shifter for the TSX transmission. However Ktuned does and their Accord/TSX shifter also has cable mounting points if you were to use the K20z3 transmission (Civic Si 06-11).

4. Which shifter cables work best?
Accord/TSX Cables

Thanks again

I sent this in your PM as well OP

the TSX shifter box can be used, karcepts used to sell a cut kit to use it, but they no longer do. what can be done is you can modify the rsx shifter plate to accept the tsx shifter so new holes would have to be drilled and new slots will have to be cut for the cable routing. as a side note it is very important to have the right shifter box a tsx shifts the opposite way than a rsx does.

looks like someone might still make one/ sell one

Incorrect.. Hasport sells a mount kit that utilizes the Tsx or Accord Transmission... (http://hasport.com/store/index.php/mounts/civic/ek/k-series-ek/ekk4.html) You can use the aftermarket shifter cables that are designed for swapped chassis using Z3 shifter cables.. They are the same.
