Does that mean they have no pressure switch?! Which function would guarantee the activation of the high speed lobe? There is only one, the pressure switch, providing pressurized oil to the log pin of the rollers. You need that switch for that pressurized oil.
Maybe the Japanese guys don't use that diagnose parameter because of a different local engine certification process or it is historical/evolutionary...who knows?
This switch in fact doesn't help,because lights on car display when pressure goes 0.5 bar..already has been a damage..
I use aftermarket oil pressure.
At 80 degrees celsius on k20/24 blocks oil ( or listen 2 times radiators fans) oil pressure at 3000rpm must be 3.5bar and over
