You can swap any heads with work I believe, but a direct swap will require 2nd generation heads. Either J35z heads or J37s. I have a set of 2010 MDX heads (2nd generation J37a1) for sale. PM me if you're interested.

Look into whethere the botl pattern for the ridgeline is the same as the TL SH AWD.

I know that some of the j37 blocks have unique bolt pattern that only fits those years j37.

I was just double checking as some of the J blocks post 08 do not have matching bell housings.

I have a j37 mdx block form 07 and it will not mate to my J35a8 transmission from the 08 tl-s 3.5l.

So, I was just trying to be helpful to make sure you don't get caught with your pants down.

Is the TL SH AWD setup you have, is that a manual setup? I am curious as I looked and looked and could never find the 6mt TL SH AWD Transmission and setup anywhere.

I know a few people have had issue with transmission fitment due to some engine block that are a bit different. I have put together a list to show these differences. This list could also be used to find a proper transmission for a give engine. J30, J32, J35 and J37 do not play a role in what is a skinny block and a wide block. Its more Year and model. most Hondas/Acuras saw the change over in 2007/2008 but the RL and Ridgeline saw them earlier. I hope this helps some people.

FYI the 2010 TL came with an AWD 6 speed that could be fun for a swap!

In anycase, I hope you swap works out and runs great!

LMAO, of course I tried, hence why I said the trans wouldn't bolt to the block.

Currently I am out of town for work, but when I get back home ill gladly post pictures of both the block and trans.

Again, I will say, the j35a8 trans I have will not fit and bolt up to the j37 block that I have. If it would fit, I would already have the j37 in the 08 tl to replace the 3.5l j35a8 that is in it currently.
