Now, i have been thinking in a set of TSX Cams.
Any thoughts? Will i need to change anything else?
i am putting 06 tsx cams in my fg2 right now (k20z3) and my understanding is that on the intake cam the secondary low cam lobe is bigger and the primary low cam lobe is about the same lift and they both have a bit longer duration. the vtec lobe has a little bit less lift but longer duration.
on the exhaust cam both high and low cam lobes are bigger with a little longer duration.
not sure how the z3 and z4 stock cams compare though. i always thought they were pretty much the same. i know that on a stock motor w/ i/h/e k20a2 they are supposed to be good for like 15 hp and 20lbs of torque.
Baseline #'s: 219.5hp & 164.5tq
Final Numbers: 235.6hp & 174.47tq
i gained 16peak hp and 10 peak tq, and a solid 10tq throughout the powerband

oh well, the reason i am not keeping my stock intake cam is because i got a solid basemap that was dyno tuned for both cams. maybe once i get some money for my own pro tune i will swap the stock intake cam back in? but hopefully by then ill actually have a legit set of cams to be tuned!
Right now I have, K24A2 TSX exhaust cam and K20Z3 Intake cam in my 09 Civic Si.
You think it is worth it to get 06+ k24A2 intake cams? I know the K20Z3 and 06+ k24A2 intake cam have the same lift, but will the extra duration really matter?
I haven't tuned or mess with the cam angle yet with my car. I been really busy lately. As of right now, I felt as if i lost power below 3rpm and gain above 3rpm.
But I do have a vacuum leak right now.
Yeah, should I get 06+ tsx intake cam or just stick with my k20z3 intake cam and tsx exhaust cam?
is the tsx intake cam lift the vtec lobe that much smaller than mour stock cam? now that i have the i/e cams in is it worth the hassle to swap the stock intake back on?
It is funny our we are asking the oposite thing. I believe the 06 TSX intake is bigger then the k20z3 cams.
The vtec lift should be the same but has more duration on the TSX cam.
