I recently read that the K20 does not respond well to larger diameter piping.
Any truth to this?
When you clog a suction hose on a vacumm, it must let air out to suck air in. If you add a free flowing exhaust you must also add an intake.
For piping diameter look at DC Sports because they already figured that out.

on a stock motor this would apply
I was running 3 inch piping and i picked up 7 whp...no loss in the mid

That's pretty amazing.... Any loss in torque????
It's hard to believe all motor running 3" thats KRAZY...
I remember people doing that with B series and it literally killed their car.
I have to go with the 2.5 b/c of my muffler.... That sux.

Needing back pressure are lies but too big of a pipe affects velocity.

I just think running 3" pipe to the DC5 R muffler even with the valving system wont allow it to flow enough air.

Well we just dropped from a header with a 3" pipe and to a 2 1/2" pipe off the header on our drag car, Its only got a small bullet muffler in it still. I'd say from seat of the pants tuning its better with the 2 1/2 but I will be having it re-dyno'd with both soon to get an exact reading...

I definately say go with the 2 1/2" it might be different on a road car, but running an almost open header set-up the 2 1/2" set-up worked better, no dyno figures yet though..
